Pinsies are Beaded Pins!

Have you noticed all the pinsies on my pincushions lately? I just made a batch of them and thought they looked pretty fantastic in a big mass like this! I like the Dr. Seuss style pin in the middle with the red and white beads reaching into the sky.

Collage Doll Quilt

This series of colorful doll quilts turned out to be doll size, but also very suitable for use as a wall quilt. They're all about 16" X 20." There's no hanging sleeve, but you can just hang them with two straight pins.

I love all the pretty images in this collage quilt: a big green pansy, cupcake, eggplant, geometrics, and all kinds of leafy, flowery, abstract goodness. These fabrics are designed by Kaffe Fassett, Martha Negley and others at Rowan & Westminster in the UK. Quilters recognize these fabrics in a second!

This quilt is available for sale for $25 at www.etsy.com/shop/karengriskaquilts.
Also see the companion quilt to this one, and many others as well.

Wall Quilt for Foodies

This is a wall quilt for foodies. The photos were taken in bright sunlight so the quilting shows up very clearly, more than it will show up indoors. This $25 Doll Quilt Sale on Etsy is so much fun.

Pre-Christmas DOLL Quilt Sale, $25

This little quilt, 16" x 20.5" was made from some of my favorite Kaffe Fassett fabrics. I love the colors. It's part of the collection of DOLL Quilts/Wall Hangings that I'm selling on Etsy for only $25 each. This is my first Annual Pre-Christmas Doll Quilt Sale. Magnesina from Poland made a Christmas banner. Take a look at the banner and the quilts. I have 5 more similar quilts almost ready to list.

Memorial Quilts made from Clothing

Memorial quilts are made using about 8 items of clothing from a loved one. These could be shirts, pants, neckties, blouses, dresses, pajamas. Just about anything except stretchy knits (like tee shirts). Names or initials and dates will be hand-embroidered. I'll do my best to make these quilts very special.

This transaction is easy and stress-free on Etsy. The listing price is $50 which is a refundable deposit. I will communicate with the buyer and we will agree on a quilt and price. A quilt measuring about 50" x 50" or 40" x 60" will cost about $400. The buyer will mail me the clothes and I'll get to work on the quilt. When it's finished, I'll notify the buyer and list the quilt in my Etsy store with the buyer's first name on it for the agreed price (less the $50 deposit). Of course, if we don't come up with an agreeable quilt plan, I'll refund the deposit right away.

1. Memorial quilts will include additional compatible fabrics, unless you prefer not.
2. All quilts will have a hanging sleeve on the back for optional hanging, unless you prefer not.
3. If you'd like some of the buttons to be included in your quilt, just let me know.
4. A pillow can be made at the same time for a small additional charge.

Amish Buggy Quilt

This quilt is the latest addition to the Etsy store. It was finished just before the blizzard when the power went off and the Internet connection was lost. But now we're back in business.

This  Midwestern Amish style quilt is less traditional than most Pennsylvania Amish quilts because it contains yellow, it's made up of a repeating block, the borders are not wide, and it has simple quilting. It would probably be a utility quilt rather than a "Sunday best" quilt. But isn't it pretty? I think the colors are delicious.

Stay tuned for another Amish style quilt, a 9-patch is in the works, and coming soon.

Novelty String Quilt

This string quilt has improv elements (the string piecing), but it's also organized into a grid and the design is symmetrical and balanced. There are lots of retro-style novelty prints sprinkled around in this quilt which makes it fun to explore as you fall asleep under it. See more details on the Etsy listing, but this is the place to see lots of close-up photos.

Amish Pineapple Quilt

I just finished this quilt last night and listed it on Etsy today. This is one of my favorites because it's such a classic quilt. High contrast fabrics are perfect for showing off all the pineapple points.

The blocks have traditional red center squares, but where the blocks intersect, there is a yellow square (on point). See bottom photo. I love that.

PA Amish Sunshine & Shadow Quilt, Pink

This is a classic Pennsylvania Amish style quilt called "Sunshine and Shadow." When it's made using printed fabrics (rather than solids) it's called "Trip Around the World." I love the delicious colors in this quilt!
