Novelty String Quilt

This string quilt has improv elements (the string piecing), but it's also organized into a grid and the design is symmetrical and balanced. There are lots of retro-style novelty prints sprinkled around in this quilt which makes it fun to explore as you fall asleep under it. See more details on the Etsy listing, but this is the place to see lots of close-up photos.

Amish Pineapple Quilt

I just finished this quilt last night and listed it on Etsy today. This is one of my favorites because it's such a classic quilt. High contrast fabrics are perfect for showing off all the pineapple points.

The blocks have traditional red center squares, but where the blocks intersect, there is a yellow square (on point). See bottom photo. I love that.

PA Amish Sunshine & Shadow Quilt, Pink

This is a classic Pennsylvania Amish style quilt called "Sunshine and Shadow." When it's made using printed fabrics (rather than solids) it's called "Trip Around the World." I love the delicious colors in this quilt!

Improv Fan Quilt - Gold & Brown

Sixteen fan blocks make up this design. No two blocks are the same in terms of "blade" size, color or number. I think that adds interest. The fans were pieced by eye. No measuring. I like the almost "Magic Eye" effect of this quilt.

Sweet String Quilt with Sawtooth Border

This is the latest quilt added to the Etsy store, a classic string quilt made with retro prints in soft pastel colors. The Etsy ad only takes 5 photos, and I use some of those to show the edge and the back, so here are some detail photos that didn't fit into the official ad. Very 1900's, don't you think?

Red & Pink Log Cabin Quilt

This quilt was listed on Etsy today. The colors are so delicious! I think it would look stunning in a spotlight or with a lamp nearby. The dark colors in the piano key border seem to glow.

I'm having a give-away on my blog for quilters this week, take a look. The 4 prizes are small vintage glass bowls that have many uses; quilters might want to keep their pins in them.

Today Laurie, Photographer from the Litchfield County Times photographed my quilts and me for an upcoming article. I'll keep you posted. It was so much fun hanging the quilts for the shoot.

New Amish Style Crib/Wall Quilt

This quilt was inspired by one in the book "Amish Crib Quilts from the Sarah Miller Collection." Several shades of purple/periwinkle/lavender add depth.
